MOB VOTE 2022: RASCAL

Vote for your favorite mob on October 14!

Are you ready to meet the rascal, one of the three candidates in this year’s Mob Vote? This mysterious mob can be found in the mines where it loves to play hide-and-seek! It’s both playful and helpful, giving you hints as you search for it. Oh, and it is generous too! Find it three times and it will reward you with a special prize that will help your mining. To find the rascal, dig deep below ground. You don’t have to go as far as the deep dark, just below Y=0. It may be mischievous, but it won’t lead you into a warden’s den!

You have the power to bring a new mob into Minecraft, will it be the rascal? This year, the mob vote takes place in a special Bedrock server, the Minecraft launcher, and right here on Minecraft.net. To make sure the process stays safe and fair, you will need to sign in with your Microsoft account to cast your vote. You can read more about Microsoft accounts here. The vote opens on October 14, noon EDT and will be open for 24 hours. With the new voting system, you can even change your mind as many times as you want during that 24 hours.

Minecraft Live will stream live on our YouTube channel and on Minecraft.net/live on October 15, noon EDT!

The 2022 Minecraft Mob Vote is here at last. For me there is a mixture of excitement and disappointments, of which I will share later in a future post. However, I would love to have any of the three choices become a permanent new addition to the game.

The third mob is the Rascal.

I love how this new mob would bring us new items after finding it 3 times. This "hide-and-seek" activity technically brings a new game within Minecraft. Having those aspects and a new mob is cool, but honestly its just like fishing for new items. We already can do this in the game.
