MOB VOTE 2022: TUFF GOLEM

Vote for your favorite mob on October 14!

It’s time to meet the tuff golem, one of the three contenders in this year’s Mob Vote! This mob is also a statue – that moves! In its statue state, the tuff golem can hold and display any item you give it. When it wakes up from its statuesque slumber, it will stroll around at random and pick up whatever dropped item it comes across if it is not holding one already.

The tuff golem will be a mob that you build, like snow and iron golems, but unlike them, they are completely passive. If you include a wool block in its construction, it will wear a matching cloak! Such a stylish statue!

You have the power to bring a new mob into Minecraft, will it be the tuff golem? This year, the mob vote takes place in a special Bedrock server, the Minecraft launcher, and right here on Minecraft.net. To make sure the process stays safe and fair, you will need to sign in with your Microsoft account to cast your vote. You can read more about Microsoft accounts here. The vote opens on October 14, noon EDT and will be open for 24 hours. With the new voting system, you can even change your mind as many times as you want during that 24 hours.

The 2022 Minecraft Mob Vote is here at last. For me there is a mixture of excitement and disappointments, of which I will share later in a future post. However, I would love to have any of the three choices become a permanent new addition to the game.

The second mob is the Tuff Golum.

I love how this new mob would bring not only new decorations (statues), it would bring new activity and movement to our basecamps and castles. I really like the idea of the Golum holding items for us like in a treasure room. However, there is not much to them and I am failing to see how a walking display can anything of real value to the game.
